+ Visually and verbally define balance, harmony, contrast, hierarchy, movement and space in the context of design
+ Create and inlay a Gestalt pattern into the zine interior
CHALLENGES
+ Restricted to only black, white and shades of grey
+ Abstract shapes only
+ Restricted to one typeface
+ Document size must be 8x16 inches
PROCESS
RESEARCH AND CONCEPTING
+ I wanted to simplify as much as possible
+ I felt abstract shapes were too distracting from the definitions
120 initial sketches: 20 per word
DRAFTING
+ Used the title type as image to simplify design
+ Opted to use my first initial for Gestalt pattern to stay on 'type as image' theme
+ Altered the pattern to be less static

+ Clear and concise, as definitions should be
+ Gestalt pattern aligns with cover elements
+ Type as image solution makes for a multi-purpose design
